I started to look at what pages the Dom Post has and how to get to them. It became clear that it's difficult to stay within the Dom Post site with articles accessed via Dom Post leading to the wider Stuff website. I'm going to make a separate website for the Dom Post using the old url, dompost.co.nz, which is advertised on the Dom Post print edition newspaper to make the user journeys more efficient. The Dom Post will still be affiliated with Stuff and feature wider national news articles but this will probably be in its own section. This independence from Stuff (which has an average to poor reputation) will make it possible for the Dom Post to recreate an identity for itself and inspire greater connection and pride within the Wellington community.
I looked at the homepage with adblocker on because this is a growing trend. Perhaps there could be paid advertisements which are more transparent and are appropriate to the content advertised. Maybe sports could have specific advertising from local sports clubs and ways to get involved - two way dialogue, useful for the reader, rather than more unnecessary ads saturating their visual field. These could be embedded within articles or categories.
